As the process continues, the defendant, Carey Bock aka Carey Levine aka Carey Mendel Levine is now in involuntary bankruptcy court.
The next time you think that there isn't a price tag for Internet Defamation and Invasion of Privacy, think twice. If you think you have nothing to lose, think twice again. Free Speech does not condone defamation.
Read more about this landmark case, and how I fought back in my new book, Google Bomb, The Untold Story of the $11.3M Verdict that Changed the Way We Use The Internet. My co-author, attorney John Dozier, will offer you practical guidance to protect yourself and how you can take steps to be proactive in owning your name and your reputation.

Carey Bock aka Carey Mendel Levine forced into Involuntary Bankruptcy
Carey Mendel Levine (formerly Carey Bock Levine) is officially forced into involuntary bankruptcy due to the $11.3M judgment (jury verdict for damages) that was placed on her. This is the result of her defaming me online and invading the privacy of my family and myself. This is entered and official as of August 27, 2009.
Read about it in Google Bomb - available now through Amazon and will be in all major bookstores September 1st, 2009.
This is a strong reminder: Free speech will not condone Internet defamation.

As the defendant is now being forced into involuntary bankruptcy, my story will help those that are feeling helpless and powerless to cyber slander - and hopefully give you the power to fight back and rise above Internet Defamation. Google Bomb will offer practical guidance to help you maintain your online image.
Even if you feel since you don't use social networking such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter etc.... remember, you are at risk too - someone may take it upon themselves to create their own vision of "you".
Free speech is something I believe in wholeheartedly, however it does not condone Internet Defamation.

Sue Scheff: Free Speech will not Mix with Internet Defamation - Collections Proceed

Carey Bock Levine (Carey Levine now), although has changed her address and her place of employment, was served on Friday, May 22, 2009 to attend an examination under oath on June 3rd to proceed with the collections process of this judgment.
After a jury awarded me over $11M verdict for damages done to my organization, my family and myself online, Bock (aka Carey Levine) attempted to have the judgment set aside and lost. Although she calls herself a Katrina Victim, it has been proven she sold her house weeks prior Katrina. Furthermore, was living in a gated community complex in League City, TX as the victims of Katrina were a distant away at the AstroDome. Also attended depositions after Katrina and found time to fly to Vegas to get married for a 3rd or 4th time.
As justice comes full circle, and for those that believe free speech protects defamation, think twice. Recently the Wall Street Journal had an article - Bloggers Beware: What you write can get you Sued! Well, just ask Carey Bock-Levine.
Carey Levine may not have the $11M, however her keystrokes will cost her - and hopefully this is a wake up call for those that believe the Internet is a place for e-venge.

Landmark Internet Defamation Cases Moves to Collections Process
Free Speech will not condone defamation - and once a judgment is filed (and as in my case, domesticated) moving forward to collections is the next step. A jury awarded me over $11M in damages ($5M of it is for punitive damages) which is not dischargeable in bankruptcy count. As you have read in my previous posts, we are now in this process and I will keep you posted on the details.
The defendant will be held accountable - after both being denied to have the judgment set aside, the defendant is now facing wage garnishment, possibly personal or involuntary bankruptcy and others means of collections.
To learn more about this case, you can pre-order my new book - Google Bomb - now available for pre-order on Amazon. I believe my case is the beginning of many more - my advice, think twice before you post!

Sue Scheff: Internet Slander, Cyber Abuse, Online Defamation - Can Be Costly!
For those that still are convinced that if you nothing to lose (financially or morally) - you think you have no worries as you continue to defame others online -think twice. Life as you know it can become extremely stressful - now that I have the domesticated judgment for $11.3M - an examination under oath is being scheduled for the defendant.
If she chooses to be not 100% truthful, there are many legal ways to determine the truth and what assets have been transferred to avoid being ceased. Garnishment of wages will be included and I am confident many people in today's times would not want to be part of this.
The moral of this is - be careful what you type online - it may not only come back to haunt you, but it could definitely cost you! With today's recession the last thing you need is a judgment for any amount.
Free Speech is still alive and well - but it will never condone defamation!
Google Bomb, my next book will fully cover this subject!
